I viewed about 15 different apartment complexes in the LA area and Eastown not only had the nicest apartments but the best staff as well. From viewing to leasing to moving in, both Zayar and Mimi made my move stress-free. The staff here are great and so is the community. The complex is quiet and everyone is really chill and friendly. The vibes is definitely genuine. Take a look and check it out and see if it's the place you can hang your coat and call home. :-)

The living experience here is amazing. Zayar is our housing manager, and he was so professional that he showed us the exact room that we want after a little chat. Now my girl friend and I wake up every morning with humming bird and floss silk flowers.

I've lived at this location for about 2 months and have been loving it thus far! Great amenities, very community-based, kept very clean, and in the heart of Hollywood. I want to give a massive thank you to one of the leasing consultants, Zayar, for helping me find my current unit. He was so incredibly helpful and kind. Initially gave me a tour of the whole complex and simply made the whole process so smooth and painless.

I spent six months in Eastown Apartments and overall the experience is great. Pros: - My leasing manager Shane Starr is fantastic. He is responsive, well organized, and always on top of things. He makes sure my concerns and requests are well and promptly taken care of. There have been a few issues with my move, but I was certain I can count on him whenever I have problems, that's just really reassuring. He made it easy to feel at home at Eastown. - The location of Eastown is excellent. The proximity to transit, especially the metro station and Trader Joes has made my life so much easier. It is the heart of Hollywood so you can walk to a lot of places. - Eastown is a big complex with a lot of amenities, there are two lounges to chill out and relax, as well as a nice sunny swimming pool. There is also a mini roof top garden overlooking Hollywood Blvd. - Inside the apartment, the kitchen is spacious with a lot of cupboard spaces, the dinning counter and dresser that come with my apartment are great for me to settle in quickly. My room faces south and gets a ton of natural light through two big windows. Cons: - While the central location means you are close to everything, unfortunately it also attracts homeless people. You can always find them on Hollywood Blvd or Argyle St right by the apartment. Some sleep overnight at the intersection. - My move-out cost ended up $370, including $130 cleaning and $242 repaint charges, which is a bit high. I always leave my apartment in excellent condition so this is basically mandatory. Overall, I'm happy with my stay at Eastown. For what I pay, I feel like I get a lot of value out of living in the heart of Hollywood with helpful management, and a beautiful apartment.

The leasing office was truly outstanding! Dealing with leasing paperwork can often be quite tedious, but Zayar ensured that my process was incredibly smooth and quick. As an international student who is still learning how to secure an apartment in a foreign country, he was exceptionally attentive in explaining the process in detail and even offered solutions to potential issues. On top of all that he was super friendly. The leasing office was incredibly!

Eastown is a HORRIBLE place to live, it’s swarmed with bedbugs and transients ! All of the grills are infested with roaches. I got attacked by a group living in the drug den across the fence on Carlos ave where resident the parking structure is and building “security” just watched ! This is NOT a safe place to live, none of the fob doors or elevators actually work, giving anyone access to the building at anytime. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve stepped in dog poop because neighbors do not clean up after their pets and management does not enforce rules unless you’re a minority. The entire staff needs to be retrained or REPLACED in order for this building to become an enjoyable place to live.

Roaches, pantry pests, break ins, a drug den with aggressive men behind Carlos Ave, constant elevator problems, and not receiving the parking spot included in your rent. Building 2 smells like dog pee during the summer. Also leasing asks you to leave a good review at move in in exchange for being "extra helpful" if you need anything. Where to begin. After lengthy pest control attempts of my unit #2208, spanning 6 months I was still left living with roaches and pantry beetles. Not only was this disgusting, but they infested everything. Even after I threw out all of the food in my unit, they were still crawling around in my closet all over my clothes. Threw away thousands of dollars of food and household items due to roach and beetle eggs being laid on them. My neighbors also had roach problems in their units. There were frequent roach sightings all over building 2. The elevator is constantly shut off, has almost shut people in the door multiple times, and has dropped floors with the door open. All of building 2 was without elevators for weeks multiple times. Finally 1 elevator was restored the day before I moved out. In the months before I moved out a drug den appeared on the other side of the "resident only" Carlos Ave behind building 2. The fence the building has had gaps and holes people would use to go in and out. I was harassed, followed, and physically threatened so frequently I wouldn't even walk my dog along the back side of the building during the day. A month or so before I moved out I was cornered by one of these men that wouldn't let me walk past him, in front of a security guard that proceeded to do nothing. Eventually one of my neighbors helped me. The day I moved out, I was waiting downstairs to meet the movers and a man came from behind the fence, practically nude and was harassing me despite telling him I was uninterested and asking him to leave me alone. Not to mention the parking gate malfunctions and stays open most of the time and is right next to this den. I had issues with someone breaking into my balcony while I was on vacation. When I contacted the building about this to make sure it wasn't the window washers that had been there, I was only told it was unlikely and never received a response to my follow up email. Shane Starr told me to hire my own cleaners at move in as the building doesn't clean units between residents. This was $200 out of my own pocket. But when I moved out I was charged a cleaning fee as Britney told me "We do not recommend you attempt cleaning your home, as we conduct an industrial level clean that includes inside, underneath and behind appliances. The cost for this service is about $150, give or take $10." Even after I hired cleaners I could still see dirt and an odd substance from the previous tenant under my fridge door. After the first pest treatment of my unit I realized this substance stuck on the floor was from the previous tenant receiving pest control. I even had to clean out the carpet the previous tenant left all over the balcony. I was told this would be done before I moved in, but wasn't and left stains all over the ground. Wasn't informed I was next to the unofficial dog area prior to signing my lease. However the building still sent out emails encouraging people to let their dogs use the bathroom next to the entrance for building 2. Once winter ended, it constantly smelled like dog pee because of this. The building did nothing. I would never use my balcony because of this odor and guests frequently mentioned it. I didn't receive my residential parking spot and had to walk along Hollywood Blvd alone at night for months. I frequently called the garage and office about this and never received calls back or a discount in rent for this. When I finally got the spot and told the garage manager this he told me it was odd since the spot had been empty for close to a year. This place is overpriced and can't even provide basic necessities like a pest free apartment and a working elevator. I would recommend moving literally anywhere else, especially for women.

Lived here 3 years and I would not recommend ! The GM Britney is the absolute worst, the maintenance team is an absolute JOKE. They scam residents for repairs that costs 3x more than market rates. These common areas are filled with roaches making them not enjoyable. The hot tub is never cleaned, it always has a filthy mountain of foam when the jets are turned on. This place has turned into a complete drug den, there’s always random homeless people sleeping/ walking around the common areas ! DO NOT RENT AT ANY OF THE WESTERN NATIONAL PROPERTIES ! Wester National is the absolute worst management company and their staff is undertrained and lack basic personality. They are money hungry SCAMMERS ! RUN !! They pander all new residents to leave 5 star reviews before they’ve actually experienced daily life in this drug den so DO NOT BELIVE THE 5 star reviews !
